    well first of all, hwmonitor has the wrong tjmax value so your temps are off.

    try core temp, should be more accurate, should be about 15 degrees less than hwmonitor.

    also your temps can be based on your ambient temp, so if your house is hot, of course the laptop will be hot.

    What is your ambient temperature (room temperature)?

    HWMonitor should be fairly accurate, in fact, for me, HWMonitor is always ~5 degrees cooler than CoreTemp's reported temperatures. Won't hurt to try it out though.

    You can try elevating the laptop off your desk by using a method as simple as sticking a book in along the rear edge of your laptop or putting your computer's back legs on erasers. That should lower temps a bit.

    I have tried all that (lifting it above my desk, put a box underneath it), but its CPU is always running at 100% and RAM usage is at ~2.36GB most of the time, using Windows Vista Home Premium(32b);

    Open up task manager and look at what process is using your cpu constantly. Looks like you have an errant program hogging the cpu and memory leading up to your issues.

    How the heck do you have an 8400 in the DV4?

    Follow the suggestions posted above....
