Hi,
Temperature near hard drive is insanely HIGH.
Any suggestion how to cool HDD. Is this problem with all HP laptops?

So we can't help him with his problem?
Try undervolting, it keeps the CPU cooler which should keep the rest of the laptop a little cooler. I'll let you use the search bar at the top, I find people give info on a silver platter too much. -
That was edited like teh lightningz!!!
On a more relevant note, read and believe. -

Luckily I saved a copy of the ORIGINAL

Well Chaz is NBR God.
Actually, he's probably just software that can trawl though NBR at near the speed of light. Obviously. -
*cue Arki's conspiracy thread* -
Replies @ speed of Light. LOL
Ok, so it was bit exagerated statement ...burns my...., and it was because of my frustration with the heat HDD is emitting. Sorry Moderator !!!
It is not Moded and runs plain windows vista (minus HP bloatware crap). Just normal web browsing and its getting very hot. You can touch laptop but can't put it on Lap for more than 5 mins. Its so uncomfortable. There is a design issue with this. I'm sure about it. HP has not designed it well and hence heat from HDD is not channeled out properly. -
<<<<<<------Try that and tell us how it works.

Tried powersaver as well as Balanced. No improvement
What is normal operating temperature of this Fujitsu HDD? Will it screw up my data if it runs continuously at such high temp? -
Did you see the link I posted earlier? Also, do you know what sort of temperatures we're talking here? You can measure temps with HD Tune.
Cheers... -
Clean out teh dust.
-
HDtune is unable to show Temperature.
There is no dust in vent. Its brand new laptop. -
I had a brand tx2500 and it ran very hot even on power save. HP does not do well with cooling their laptops.
You may want to consider buyin a different laptop if possible; Bulletguy. -

If there's one thing I've noticed about HPs I've tried in stores, it's that they often seem hot.
HP dv4t burns
