I'm wondering if the product on this page has the Centrino 2 platform
It lists Intel Media Accelerator 4500MHD, which I thought only the new platform could have...
Would I be able to upgrade the CPU to a Penryn in the future?

EDIT: Got the link to work. Yes it is Centrino 2. The Penryn T5800 is not Penryn, but it can be upgraded to Penryn. -
But you said... The Penryn T5800 is not Penryn
So, to clarify. The T5800 is not Penryn. -
okay, thank you very much =)

to my knowledge, this is WRONG. the t3200 and t5800 are not centrino 2. in fact, i have a t5800 dv5t in front of me and it has an 'centrino inside' sticker on it, not centrino 2. also, i dont think the previous processors can be upgraded to penryn...

I can't see why you wouldn't believe what's on the manuel page for the T5800 you posted, it clearly states Centrino (inside) not Centrino2.
Plus the reason you'd be able to upgrade has nothing to do with Centrino or Centrino2 , rather what socket the T5800 sits in, I believe they are the same socket type and compatible.
I took a T9300 Penryn which was replaced by a X9000 Penryn and put into a T7500 Santa Rosa, all this was able to be done because the sockets were all of the P type. -
Centrino 2 needs a 1066mhz FSB the t5800 only has an 800mhz fsb. Its on the correct chipset to support 1066mhz FSB. My dv7 has a t5800 and is branded as centrino
HP dv5 Centrino 2?
