    Hi All,

Could you be so kind to assist me in the following problem as :

I've notice my laptop's touchpad strange behavior as its left button seems activates by even small touch of front panel of the laptop. Also it keeps (left button) touched after tapping the touchpad.

Visually left button is much pressed down pressed right one.

Laptop is bought in 2009 and in all other aspects works well.

For you kind information Synaptics Pointing Device V6.5 is used in my laptop.

I'll highly appreciate your kind advise

    Best regards

    tafu

You need to replace palmrest as the touchpad with buttons is integreated. I have 3 Dv5 laptops and have the same problem on one of them (the one I use the most). In fact the problem happened the second time as the first time HP replaced it under warranty. You can probably fix with the piece of toothpick like I did. I've tried using superglue but it it got on left and right click buttons. Don't use superglue in the canister as it's impossible to control amount that gets out. I had a hard time getting it off and scrathed the right buton when I was rubbing it with paper towel/super glue removal.
