There is a white line across my screen and its a hardware issue, not a software issue. If I press on the left part of the LCD I can make the line disappear, but once I relieve the pressure it comes back again. Anyone know what part I need to swap out to fix this issue?

After doing some research it seems like the inverter for these things goes out after about a year of use. Does this sound like an inverter failure? From what I read this symptom doesnt sound typical for an inverter. Thanks

Hi lowbot, and welcome to the forums :)

It could be that the inverter has become loose (most likely). Try and reseat it and see if that solves the issue. While you're at it, check to see if the lcd cable assembly has become loose as well.

I had this happen on a dv6000 screen i got 1 green line it wasent the connecter it was the LCd it self. The inverter isnt the problem. That controls the backlight not the data going to the screen.

You might try to reseat the LCD cable. Inverter only supplies power to the backlight and has nothing to do with video signal.
