    Hi guys,

I got my dv5000t in August, and it runs pretty flawless with the exception of when there is a CD or DVD being read in the optical drive.

I had a bad experience with HP support in September, I had a problem with audio not playing, but I had found out later is was due to a Quicktime setting. The rep screwed with a couple things, and when he couldn't figure it out, he just told me that I had a virus and that I should pay for this $50 service to fix it... Yeah right! Which is why I am reluctant to call them over this matter...

Anyway, my problem is when I put in a DVD to watch, or a CD to listen to (or install software), the computer runs choppy... The mouse chops around, or if I'm trying to watch a DVD, it chops... This is only when the optical drive is spinning the disc...

I was wondering if anyone else ever had this issue, or if any of you had any idea on how to fix it

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This sounds like it might be a driver issue. If you can, look for updated drivers though HP and Microsoft's website.

I would suggest updating those drivers and/or uninstall-reinstall the same driver.

Thanks for the suggestion... Would anyone happen to know where I would be able to find those drivers...?
