he guys... I am new to this forum...

    my laptop is HP dv5215us
last week i got my copy of windows vista ultimate... so i installed it on my laptop (HP dv5215us)... i had installed the 32bit version and all the drivers available on the hp site, but still had problems with wireless and wired net connection... when i open a torrents, torrents r slow and the net will drag... and after i disconnect the torrent still no net connection so i have to restart the laptop.... when i installed the 64bit version the net access was better than 32 bit... still had some problems with torrents... but major problem was that a few drivers where not available and so no sound, card reader, etc....

now i have gone back to windows xp media center, till someone has a solution for these problems....

my wireless router is DLink DI624.... someone told me to reduce my routers MTU to 1486, so i have done that... this i did after i rolled back to XP...

    does anyone have a solution

    thanx in advance

Is the problem only happening when you are using torrents?

Hi, Vista is more strict with security, you need to disable the router UPnP option and make sure you forward the relevant port according to your torrent client setting. Same goes for your vista firewall settings. I doubt it has to do with the network drivers in any way.

Have you tried right clicking "run as administrator" in vista?

The browser I use has built in torrent functions and it works with vista for me without running as administrator.
