I bought this laptop last Sunday. It is an 17-720M. Quite a nice machine, except... put a DVD into it... HP MediaSmart starts up... and the sound volume through the speakers is very low... even with every setting I can find set to max volume.

I see there are sound volume issues with various HP PC's... but I'm new to HP brand... formerly Dell and IBM. This model is very new, I think... only one store had it on Sunday in Singapore... the other 5 stores in the IT mall didn't know when they would be getting it.

Thus, before I start calling HP support, or searching for drivers, is there a known solution common to most HP models that will fix this up?

    Many thanks.
