Im going to college in a few months and I'm looking for a new laptop to replace the 6 y/o HP that I have now. I'm stuck between getting an HP Envy and customized dv6.

Here's what I got so far.

    dv6
Pros: 6GB RAM (2 more than envy), Larger Screen
Cons: Annoying side quick launch keys

    Envy 14
Pros: Thin and smaller, better back-light keyboard, non-plastic body, no quick launch keys
Cons: Bit more expensive, I've heard there is a whining noise from the processor?, Also heard that screen is really glossy?

If anyone else could add to the features both good and/or bad to facilitate my decision I would really appreciate it.

Do not let 2gb of ram persuade you, upgrading is not expensive, and most users will find 4gb to be plenty.

I would say Envy. I would have gone Envy but had a huge coupon for DV6 ($400 off) that solidified it.
