I have an HP dv6-6195ca, which I purchased back in July. While I have had some hardware quality issues, nothing has really been bad with the laptop. About a month ago, the fan starting to make like a ticking noise, like when a card is placed within the spokes of a bicycle. I went to my local tech shop to get it checked out and they said it was due to a lose wire or adhesive that was interfering with the fan blade. I got them to fix it and apparently they did. But now the fan is making another noise, different from the first, which is even more annoying and sounds like my fan is dying. The link attached will give an audio clip of a recording of the sound.

Does anyone know what could cause this sound? I have exams coming up and I can't have something distracting me and I also need my laptop to study.

Hmmm... Im not sure exactly whats causing that, but it sure would annoy the $*!% out of me. On a laptop I returned there was a screw loose inside and if I tilted it the wrong way it would get stuck in the fan and make a grinding noise. Make a warranty claim or take it back to get fixed again.
