I just checked out the new dv6-6b47dx from Best Buy. HP and Best Buy sites are useless as they show the exact same specs for this one and the dv6-6145dx. Both sites show that the two have the same processor, the AMD A8-3500M.
By checking out both computers at the store, I did find that the dv6-6b47dx has the AMD A8-3510MX processor, while the dv6-6145dx has the A8-3500M processor. The 6b47dx is $30 cheaper than the 6145dx, while having the better processor.
I've been checking the web, but can't find any accurate specs as to what the 6b47dx has. Every site has this computer having the 3500M processor, which is wrong. Just want to know what else is different between the two computers. Anyone with any info.
Thanks.

I did see HP's page, but it's wrong. They're showing the processor as the 3500M, when it actually has the 3510MX. I checked the computer. That's why I don't know how accurate the rest of the specs are.

Thanks for the info Wolverine! Sounds like a nice little laptop for the price.
Are there any other differences you can figure out between the 6b47dx and the 6145dx? Different screen? Different dvd drive? Anything, or are they basically the same except for the processor?
I wish HP or Best Buy had the correct specs. I asked the guy at Best Buy and he was clueless! He kept insisting that they were the exact same, only that they changed the part number! -

I've run Belarc, and HWInfo on this lappy, and it states 512mb ram. I'm not sure what this pertains to, but I have seen other laptop brands (Toshiba) with the AMD 3510mx APU with specs including 512mb ram for the Video portion. This 512MB ram is indeed in this laptop, but is it diabled for some reason we are unaware of. HP's design doesn't allow for this ram to work on the DV6-6b47dx's particular design?
Amid the many specifications given by these programs, Belarc & HWInfo, they both show the LCD panel as being built in the first week of 2009. I bought my DV6-6b47dx laptop in Jan 2012 which gives an age of 4 years to my LCD panel while my laptop is only one year old? Does this sound fair? is it common practice? This certainly explains the bad reviews of the stock LCD panel in DV6 laptops; old technology. Having played with the settings in AMD's Vision Control Center I have managed to adjust them so the screen looks fairly decent while before it was, as others often stated, not so good.
I'd like more owners of this model laptop to offer insights into the innner workings of the dv6-6b47dx as this lappy is certainly a lone, babe in the woods when decerning whats actually inside.
