I can't get the Bluetooth software/drivers to work properly on my computer.

I installed XP Professional (SP3) not too long ago, and all the other drivers are working properly. I tried several times to install the XP drivers from the HP site for the Bluetooth integrated module...they install well, but I keep getting an error upon start-up of my computer

    "BtTray.exe can't run properly...blahblah" Then I can't use Bluetooth.
My compuer also always is going through DskChk when starting up, and it's annoying. My MSN messenger also doesn't want to start up, but I don't care, as I can always go to Trillian for this.

What's going on? I really need my Bluetooth to work and this is really annoying!!!!

Not sure. I was able to use the Bluetooth drivers on a DV9000 with XP Pro/ slipstreamed SP3 clean build, but I have never tried them on a machine upgraded to SP3.

    Upgraded?

I'm not sure if I was clear...I bought XP Professional very recently, so SP3 was included on the disk. I didn't "upgrade" to it later via the net. Sorry if I wasn't clear...-_-

OK, then you have exactly what I had... (I was not aware XP Pro had ever been shipped with SP3 integrated).

Yeah it's new...I got it from NewEgg.

Okay, so I formatted my HDD and reinstalled XP Pro and it seems to be working fine again (weird).

I hope it doesn't so haywire again. Before I reinstalled XP Pro, I was having problems with Bluetooth and AIM 6...oh, and MSN messenger. All were having errors come up like "aim6.exe is corrupted, blah blah", and forced me to do diskcheck each time I started up my computer, but no virus was present.

I don't know what caused this to happen, but it's gone now, and let's hope it stays that way.
