Could anyone give me the pros and cons pf this patricular laptop. I have narrowed my search to this model and the Gateway nx570x. Any postive feedback will be appreciated.

I just recieved my dv6000t and I can honestly say its my favorite notebook out of all the other notebooks that I have had, and I recently purchased a dell 1520 that I ended up returning and the HP bloes it out of the water in every way in my opinion.

It's a very popular laptop. There are a lot of reviews of it here on NBR.

I believe the 6000z gets worse battery life than the 6000t. So why not go for the 6000t?

There also is a DV6500z out now that you might want to consider though if your needs are basic then certainly the 6000z would be fine. I would certainly take it over a gateway.

If you want a dedicated memory GPU go straight to the dv6500z with its GeForce 8400 upgrade option. Otherwise, if you can get a good deal on the dv6000z it's a good notebook. Its nVidia integrated GPU is substantially better than the Intel GPU in the dv6000t.

I just helped a friend get a laptop and we found the dv6500z It's a _very_ nice looking machine and we got a fantastic deal with a 20% off coupon that allowed him to upgrade to 2 gig memory, 8400M GS and 120gig HD, and still only pay 751. I bet you can get a better deal than that, now, since there's a 30% off coupon floating around. (unless they've raised the base price).

I havve the 6500z and it is a great laptop. I love it -
my 6000z is great. highly recommended. If you get the amd, make sure to get the 12 cell battery

It's a great laptop, but mine broke down because it was in a bad batch. Now the VGA adapter is malfunctioning and my warranty is out =[ Now I have to pay myself to fix it.
