    Hi,

Last year I bought a new laptop for practical use and some gaming. I overdid it a little with the i7 2630QM.
I'm planning to play Guild Wars 2 starting this weekend but I'm a little worried about the temperature from the processor. In the beta it went over 90°C with a peak of 94°C. Being idle in the game gives me a temperature in the 80-85°C range. This is too much if I want to play a lot. What are my options, apart from additional hardware.

I figured I can run the game easily on medium settings which is just fine by me. Is underclocking my processor an option? Can I underclock my computer to lose, let's say, 10 °C? (Doing this in the power options channel gives me too much of a performance drop.)

I'm actually really worried about this. Help is appreciated!

(My laptop is still in the shape it came from the shop. Maybe a format, no bloatware, additional software can do miracles?)

Use the coolsense program on "Coolest Mode".
