    HP dv6226us XP drivers

    I'm working on this laptop for someone, and it came preinstalled with Vista. This guy wants Windows XP Home on it, so I wiped the drive and installed XP Home. HP's website does not have XP drivers for this model, however, by looking through some of the dv6000 and dv6100 series laptops I was able to get most of them.

    I haven't been able to install the Audio or Modem drivers so far. All thats left in the Device Manager are:

    PCI Device - audio
    Unknown Device - probably the modem

    When I attempt to install the audio drivers I found for XP for the previous models, it tells me it cannot find the device. Sooo I thought I needed a different version of the chipset. I got a chipset driver from Intel's site, and a different version from HPs site. No dice.

    Help please.

    Hi there...had the same prob I used the 3.26.0.0 driver for the conexant listed under this product number rg253ua on the hp site...but I am getting a yello flag for the ethernet controller.....I have the exact same pos laptop and am curious what chipset driver you used and how you got the ethernet controller to function?

    As for the modem i used the driver for the hd audiosoft modem...I think I found it on hp also

    I have this same laptop. I formatted Vista to put Linux on it and know decided to give it to my wife and formatted it tonight and put XP Pro.. Wow, absolutely non of the drivers are on the HP site for this model...

    Can you tell me what driver used for WLAN and for the video?
