I have a HP pavilion dv6244us laptop which came with windows vista home premium.
I have created the recovery dvd.
I also installed windows XP as dual booting, and due to which I think I messed up the recovery partition. So i deleted the recovery partition.

Now, I wanted to reinstall the laptop to its factory setting, so used the recovery disk but i got an error which read "PC is not supported by the recovery disk".
I do not know what the problem is, but it just wont install vista.

I also tried the vista anywhere upgrade, and i got another error which read "cd/dvd device driver cannot be found".

So I am here stuck here not knowing what to do.

I installed XP successfully, but with driver issues.
I could not get the audio to work.
When I install the xp audio driver, it says "Installation cannot find the MEDIA device for the driver".( I used the same driver in the XP which was working as dual boot, back then, it was working.. everything was working).
But now I cant get the audio to work , when the xp is the sole OS.

I am very stuck in here. Please help me.

What I am wondering is,.. how can the recovery disk be not supporting my notebook???? (FYI the disks are in perfect condition without any scratches whatsoever)

Please help me on this issue.

Follow the stickies to reinstalling XP with the correct drivers. With regards to your recovery disc issues, speak to HP. You can just order a recovery disc set for about $20 from HP for your computer, worst case!
