i am about to have an Hp Pavilion dv6750 laptop, but based on some issues i've read regarding pavilion notebooks, i am thinking twice.. (eg. noisy fan, OVERHEATING problems, etc)

it has an AMD TURION processor, Nvidia 8400 dedicated, 2Gb Mem, 250Gb, 5400rpm Hd.. etc..

i wanna hear out those people owning the actual "dv6750" model.. or to anyone that can help. thanks!

well I can guarantee your going to have a noisy fan...the overheating problems I don't know if the newer models are having the same problem but for the older models being affected its bad because it seems like parts are frying out one at time usually starting with wireless until the computer stops working

I do not have a dv6750 but I have a dv6768se which has the same base and I can assure you it does not have the wifi problem from the earlier 6000 series. I also own a dv6325 that had the wifi problem once already and was repaired, and the problem was specific to a certain series of motherboards (as noted on my service forms) that they stopped using when they switched to the newer MCP65M based ones, if you do more research into the v6000 series wifi problem you'll see posts from HP reps stating that. There are no overheating problems with my dv6768, overclocking it from 2ghz to 2.5ghz using ntune I get around 37C idle and 55C under heavy load. The numbers after the first 2 in HP laptop model numbers usually does not matter too much, they are based on the the same core laptop with different HDD, cpu, memory, case color and video options as well as selling specific numbers only at certain chains as part of a price matching wracket they have going with major chains so you cant price adjust to competetors. t after the base model indicates intel based and z indicates amd based, us/eu, etc indicates country of the preconfigured model or in some cases like se or nz the store it is sold at. Unless there is a major change in the generation any dv6700z based laptop is going to have the same overheating or motherboard problems yours potentially might incase you want to look for more information than you can find for just the specific preconfigured model. I am very happy with the dv6768 and would recommend any dv67xx based turion laptop. You could always purchase an extended warranty or buy it on a visa with warranty manager service if you are really worried.

btw i think my dad already bought the unit abroad, so that means i really have no choice. LOL. wish me luck. there will be no problems! *crosses fingers*

BTW, does HP entertain warranty even though the product is not bought DIRECTLY from Hp? (mine was bought in a RETAIL store.)

and if ever i need a laptop fix, do i need to ship it back to my dad abroad?! that would be rather inconvenient..
    :(
