    Main questions:

    Dv6tse vs ENVY 14

Which is less likely to heat up?

Will the dv6 get a better res screen anytime soon?

Which has better build quality if any significant difference? Better than an ASUS?

I know the envy 14 ain't in stores so I can't check it out myself especially if the screen size is good enough. I basically want a 14-15 inch laptop that can play some demanding games in med to possibly high settings. This can guarantee me some longevity for software use. The 5650 seems decent enough, and since ASUS and nVidia can't make a decent GPU for a mainstream book, I'm stuck with ATI.

    1. The dv6 is gonna run cooler due to the bigger chassis

    2. Hopefully but I wouldn't count on it.

    3. Build quality for both is top-notch.

You sure about the cooling? The Envy 14 does have two fans...

    To add:

Will dv6tse support greater resolutions via output ports for external displays?

Is the HP warranty worth it? I was planning on getting the 2 year warranty.

What do you mean by greater? If more than the screens resolution then yes. I run it on my 42" LCD at 1920x1080.

    1. No one is quite sure, they both have good cooling, but I'd assume the Dv6t is likely to be a bit better.

    2. No

    3. Build quality for both is great.

As for driving higher resolution screen, the Envy 14 wins because it has a Mini Display port, which can drive resolutions up to 2500 by 1600.

    1. HP Envy 14 has two fans. HP dv6tse has one fan. Easy answer.

    2. No, for now. Maybe next year?

    3. Both are solid computers. Period.
