    Regarding the adapter:

    IMO, the 90w is alright to use. Your dv6 will run and the battery will charge just fine with it provided you are not doing anything too taxing GPU-wise. But it is preferrable to use one rated at 120w which is what ships as OEM.

    Like Izagaia said, if you are using the discrete GPU, your laptop will drain more than that adapter can provide and you will continue to eat into the battery. It's fine if you're just charging at rest, but you won't be able to do any gaming or anything like that while using it.

    Wow, that's an expensive power brick! I've been using a 65w dell power adapter for about two month now, it keeps my dv6tqe charged just fine. Save your money and get some RAM or a SSD

    It will keep it charged, but it will not supply enough juice at load.
