So, to take shipping discussion out of the Owners Lounge, I am creating this thread.

    Summary:
I ordered my dv6tse last Friday night, August 20, and the expected delivery date is Tuesday, August 31 at 10:30 am. My laptop might possible arrive tomorrow, Monday, but I doubt it. I'll update this tomorrow.

The last thing that happened was my laptop was shipped from Memphis at 3:36 PM. The flight definitely should have arrived by now, so maybe the shipping info just hasn't updated. Anyone know what's going on?

Update: So I did get it on Monday morning at 10 am! So that's 6 business days from the day I ordered.

My laptop is in... China. :(
I really hope it gets shipped within today and tomorrow. I am tired of not being able to take notes in class because of the poor battery of this thing.

Mine is on the truck. :D

I think that the general delivery process should be added to the OP. I also think that it might be a good idea to open this thread to everyone waiting for a Pavilion. :)

    EDIT: I JUST GOT IT!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D WOO! *goes to unbox*

I'm shocked with how light the box is, though...

Mine actually got shipped today. :)

It says that it missed the Fedex cutoff, and it was picked up at 11:32 PM (local time in China).

@City: I know you have been tracking yours and speculating on possible flights. How have you been tracking down possible flights? Also, my delivery date is now set to "Thur Sept 2 at 12:00." How accurate was your estimated delivery date?

The estimated delivery date for both City and I was Tuesday August 31, and we both received ours Monday August 30.

My package also missed the cutoff in China (arrived at 11:11pm) August 26, and was shipped the next day (August 27) to Alaska. It then took another day to leave Alaska (August 28), and was sent to Memphis. Again, the next day (August 29) it was shipped to Los Angeles, and was delivered the following day (August 30). I ordered my laptop on Friday, August 20, sometime in the evening.

My system has been stuck in Anchorage for the past 20 hours, however, it is still showing up as "in transit." Do you guys think have I've hit a "clearance delay"? If this has happened to you, how long did the system take to update the status of the shipment?

Sorry, I had to double post to bump the thread because the last post was too old.

FedEx is an airline, so you can track them specifically. The problem is that they send a ton of flights daily. It's easier to choose the airport and then filter it to only show FedEx flights to/from that location.

I'm not really sure what happened, but it's possible that the tracking info for you just hasn't updated yet. At the end of my shipment, my info didn't update. Hopefully this is the problem, and not that it's stuck there. And, as far as I know, it says "clearance delay" if there has been a clearance delay.

Well the system just updated two hours ago (I was in class at the time), and it still comes up as "in transit" Anchorage, AK. However, it now also says "Package available for clearance." Does that mean it is now ready to leave Anchorage? Is my estimated delivery date (tomorrow @ 12PM) still realistic? I am about 6 1/2 hours southeast of Memphis.

I think after "package available for clearance" the next thing is "Int'l shipment release." Then it is flown to Memphis, and then from Memphis to your local area. So it might still reach you in time if it leaves Anchorage today, but I think it's more likely it is a day late. Or maybe it will just arrive later in the afternoon.

Yeah, I would love for it to get here tomorrow at noon, but I think you are right in saying that if it does not leave Anchorage today, it is probably going to be a day late. Oh well, I guess all I can do is hope that there's still a flight to Memphis today. :)

My worst fear has just come true. The blazing red warning CLEARANCE DELAY is the new status of my shipment (updated a few minutes ago). I really hope this does not push me into next week, as the weekend is pretty much the only time I will have to tweak and setup my computer :\

Yep mine was shipped on the 30th too.. same bunch.. I've read these things can extend into many days if HP didn't send all the paperwork to customs..

Actually reading a 3 year old thread on this is how I found this forum this evening

Yes, I know they can take a while. Again, even though I wish it would have arrived tomorrow, all I want is for it to arrive before the weekend. My college's mail room is not open during weekends. However, I don't really know if Fedex delivers during the weekend.

I think the last clearance delay talked about here only lasted until the next day, and I don't think it was even 24 hours. Still, I'm sorry you guys got unlucky. Hopefully your laptops arrive soon.

def not happening today.. maybe tomorrow.. that said this one shipped a lot sooner than its scheduled ship date.. maybe theres some connection with them shipping early and the delay.. maybe customs thoroughly scans shipments 'randomly' and they knew it would be this one? Just a thought out of my crazy mind... hehe

It was supposed to be delivered to my home today.. so obviously they missed that window.. now, the FEDEX tracking page doesn't even show an ETA -- the entire field is missing from the page. lol

Update: just chatted with HP customer support.. they claim 'HP is aware of the customs delay and is cooperating with U.S. Customs to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. All required paperwork has been completed and is now being processed. Please check your FedEx tracking number for updates...'

I complained since mine was supposed to be delivered 2-day (To-day haha) and they offered me a credit.. better than nothing.. now its just sit and wait.

Never pay for the two-day. It gets delivered in two or three business days most of the time either way. In fact, people who pay for 2-day shipping seem to be more prone to clearance delays due to HP rushing to get the documents out.

Maybe that should be added to the first post...

That is straight-up BS. I called them in the morning and they told me the exact same thing. "All required paperwork has already been submitted to customs. Expect it to be cleared today in the afternoon." Today in the afternoon my ***. LOL. Like you, mine was supposed to come today at noon, and now with the long weekend it might get here on Wednesday if it doesn't get cleared tomorrow.

EDIT: No estimated delivery here either.

He doesn't need luck. If FedEx is sending out planes this weekend, it'll reach the airport nearest him by Sunday. FedEx is very fast and efficient with these shipments. HP causes any and all delays, and it's past the point where HP can slow it down.

Better yet, if they had a flight today... I just checked an hour ago, and apparently it "Departed Fedex Location" at 3:30 Alaskan time. I guess this gives me a decent shot of getting it on Tuesday, right?

This flight is probably to Memphis, and then there will probably be another flight to your local area, so I still think there will need to be flights over the weekend for you to get your package, but as long as there are flights over the weekend you should definitely get it Tuesday.

Thanks narfsalot for the flight info. I checked it out yesterday but I was too tired to post again (it's been a tiresome college week).

As to reaching my local area, it actually departed Memphis at 4:32 AM. Again, I am only 6 hours away from Memphis. It will sit at my local FedEx office until Tuesday, correct?

Hi everyone! I've sort of been lurking but I finally got the guts to pipe in. Is 41 hours normal for the clearance delay? My dv6t se was in Alaska for two days prior to hitting clearance delay on the tracker. Does that mean it will spend another two days in Alaska? Thanks in advance!

From what I've seen, it's completely random. It could be hours, a day, a few days, or even a week in (rare) especially severe cases. You won't know until it's over.

My laptop was in the same shipmen as City Pig's, and there wasn't a clearance delay. The shipment for people that ordered one day before us had a one day clearance delay, and so their's arrived at the same time as ours (note: I'm not sure of the exact amount of hours the delay was, only that it moved on the next day instead).
