Nice. Too bad that wouldn't work with the free Xbox. At least, it says no coupons on HP's terms page for the Xbox offer but it wouldn't hurt if I ask.

    Yeah no 1080p screen.

Just an update. I've tried overclocking with Afterburner and ATI Tray Tools. No luck as of yet.

Played a demo of Duke Nukem Forever and it ran pretty darn smooth. Still going to be a bit before I can give any real figures.

No rush. I would just like to see the CPU performance in things like Cinebench whenever you get a chance. And measuring the clock speed ( CPU-Z) and power consumption ( BatteryBar) while you did it would be great if you could

I ordered the HP dv6-6135dx BestBuy but called CS to get a better deal.

It also had a 100GC from BB - Free $100 Gift Card with a Laptop PC $699 & Up
If you look at the "qualifying laptop" link and sort by price Low to High the DV6 shows up first, but I had to call CS to get them to honor it for me after taxes paid about $710 for this laptop and I will receive a $100 GC for best buy. Sucks though I can't get it till sometime later this week my BB doesn't have any in stock so they're shipping it to my store.

Basically getting it for $610, then. That is a very good deal. I am on chat with a HP sales rep right now and she is telling me that the free Xbox deal does not include the dv6zQE. She is "checking it future" because I explained to her it just came out today and it might not be on the approved notebooks list yet. If it turns out it isn't, I guess I am going up to BestBuy tomorrow and picking up that for $610.

Edit - Turns out I was right, it is included. Probably gonna place an order tomorrow or Tuesday. I just have to make some decisions first. Like FHD or no, which APU and which graphics.

Trying to keep my price under $850 max before taxes. The the A8-3530MX upgrade alone does not put it over the $690, I'd have to add something like the 512MB graphics option, which we believe to be the AMD6490. If it turns out to be the 6750, that is definitely the route I am going. Would come out to around $750 after taxes. Sell the Xbox for $150 and that is a great deal. Maybe I could talk them into giving me the FHD screen for free instead of Bluray and 6GB of RAM

Can you take the $100 card and use it on that order? If so... I may have to say no to the m15x I'm buying, provided benches are good. Kinetik, mind running 3DMark Vantage? The score it gets really will help me dicide. Thanks!

    Here's the 3Dmark Output: Clicky

    Here's the cinebench screenshot:

    On battery
    [IMG]

    On A/C
    [IMG]

For whatever reason, regardless of what I set the power options too it wont go above 1.5ghz on battery.

On A/C I only saw it spike to 2.3ghz a few times.

I've been out of the benchmark game for a while so you guys will have to interpret the results. If you want anything else ran or ran a different way just lemme know.

    @LLStarks,

I'll be happy to help tomorrow. I have a bootable Ubuntu disc at my office.

Youd you mind running Vantage on Dual Graphics? It seems you are running it on integrated. Nonetheless, for an IGP, that is an amazing score! About 2k more pts than my m11x, with a discrete GPU.

Edit: 6750M gets around 7k Vantage, so you may hit 10k with good drivers.

Could you try running Cinebench single core? No hurry. I am not that surprised that it can't turbo all 4 cores past 1.5GHz with the IGP disabled, though I am still kind of shocked and hopefully that is something that can be improved with a BIOS update, but I would like to see if can at least 1 core at 2.4 throughout the benchmark

I'm pretty sure it's just reading the Integrated, as the AMD Crossfire logo is in the upper right corner the entire time. I had already set 3dmark to use the 6750m. Unless I missed something.

Man, then there has to be some crazy bad drivers going on, since the 6750M get 7k stock, as I mentioned.. Hmmmm... Try messing with settings in Catalyst Control Center.

Ok so bulletstorm on medium/1280x768 ran at 30fps avg
MW2 ran at 50FPS with everything maxed

I suck for games at the moment haha.

@ Kevman I searched all day for drivers and nothing would install... SO finally I just used the windows driver search feature and it updated to a new driver version. Rerunning 3dmark now to see whats up.

Thanks a lot! It looks like my suspicions from the thread in the Hardware forum are correct. Your results are approximately consistent with what the reviewers got (e.g. AnandTech gets 1.88 for the same benchmark).

Out of curiousity: you say that it sometimes spikes to 2.396 GHz (and your screenshot shows that), but have you ever seen it at frequences between 1.5GHz and 2.3GHz? For example, at 1.8GHz or 1.9GHz? Also, I would be curious to see what happens if you run Cinebench with a single core as abaddon4180 said.

Does Minecraft and other OpenGL games run on the APU or GPU?

Run Hwinfo and post screenies of the application before and while you have a Minecraft window open.

Yep, it looks like there is only 1 turbo speed. Still, it is disappointing and surprising that it can't at least put one or two of the cores at 2.4GHz with the IGP disabled. 35W should be enough for that.

If it helps anyone WOW runs at 30FPS avg with everything set to WOW's recommended settings and windowed mode.
