    Hi,
I recently purchased a new HP dv6z laptop that just came in about 5 days ago. However, I couldn't help but notice that the light around the entire touchpad is not on. I tried reinstalling the synaptics touchpad drivers and pressing fn+spacebar to enable it, but neither of these suggestions worked. Is there anything else I can try? Also, this is the steel gray model if that helps at all. And the product number is A1M23AV

EDIT: I'm stupid, I didn't read your whole post.

Any other suggestions? Or should I just get it replaced/refund and wait for the refresh?

It's probably just a loose or unconnected connector. If you really want it on, return it. Otherwise try to disassemble and find the connector, or just live with it off.

I keep mine off all the time, but that's just my preference.
