Hey just got the HP dv7 3065dx and I've been looking around to find out more about it. I know general inormation about it and it seems like a good computer. If anyone has any opinions or info on it that I should know about like heating issues, battery life, memory issues, or capabilities vs other laptops in its range i'd appreciate it. Pleasee xcuse my lack of knowledge  thanks in advance

We don't have an official review of the HP Pavilion dv7 but based on my experience with it, it's a solid computer and would be my choice for a 17" at the moment. Congrats on the purchase.

Might be a good idea to skip ahead to the later pages for more recent discussion. That thread is for the Intel-based dv7 but . . . the AMD version you have is basically the same laptop.

    Thanks Jeffries...

Vinaypro- if you put the speakers up to loud they get ty.. but you can still put them up a decent amount wih good sound quality.. wen maxed out it get crackly unfortunately :( ... no heating problems so far I've only had it about a week though.. I'm not sure when the laptop came out but the specs are good and its a great looking computer...it can't be more then a year old i'm guessing if that.

vinaypro: HP Pavilion dv7-3065dx at Best Buy:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pa...ssor/9556296.p?skuId=9556296&id=1218123847586
If this configuration had gigabit Ethernet and 802.11n I'd buy it. Unfortunately you have to step up to the dedicated memory GPU configurations to get GigE and the dv7-3065dx is the only AMD dv7 that Best Buy sells. Walmart has the nicest AMD dv7 configuration in the US:
    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=12347230
But I can't abuse my Best Buy card financing there and it's $200 more. Still, tempting.
