Just received new HP dv7 (bronze) and have a real hard time reading the keyboard (very thin letter fonts and very pale white/grey? font color = Extreme lack of significant contrast. All set to send back to BB.

Saw another bronze HP laptop while in Staples BUT it had very good keyboard letter contrast (white on bronze). What do you all recommend - try having BB send me another machine?

From what I've seen browsing around Best Buy and Office Max over the last week is that the bronze colors vary based on processor. That could be wrong, but thats what I've noticed. One of the laptops you described is an AMD, the other is an Intel. If you don't mind a different processor, that may be the way to go. Just keep in mind that the AMDs run a little more hot than the Intels.

You could just try Onyx, its quite nice, silver keys with black letters.

Why do people need to see the keys on their keyboards? If you can actually type ti is unnessesary. You're actually considering sending your computer back, because it's slightly difficult to read the keyboard?
