    Guys, I have the dv7t Select Edition with the i7-720QM processor (model WX444AV) and I have someone that may be interested in buying it, BUT, I dont' have any recovery discs. I had someone install a clean windows on it so I guess the recovery partition got lost in the process.

    Well, I won't get the discs from HP in time unless I pay roughly 30 bucks total for 2 day shipping so I was wondering if someone has any discs they can upload for me to download and burn?

    Out of curiosity, can someone tell me what it's worth in this configuration with over a year warranty left?

    Ie, what I COULD sell it for (realistically-is that correct?).

    Also, what I could sell it for with an added OCZ Vertex 2, 120GB SSD.

    Here are the specs:
    ==============
    HP Pavilion dv7t Select Edition customizable Notebook PC

    • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz
    • 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 graphics [HDMI, VGA]
    • Upgrade to 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    • 640GB 7200RPM Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    • Microsoft(R) Office Starter 2010
    • 9 Cell Lithium Ion Battery (over-sized)
    • 17.3" diagonal HD+ High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen Display (1600 x 900)
    • LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
    • HP TrueVision Webcam and Fingerprint Reader
    • Intel Wireless-N Card with Bluetooth
    • Standard Keyboard
    ==================
    Frankly, a couple of design things with the laptop irritate the hell outta me and I'm considering getting a Samsung. One of the things that irritate me the most are the locations of the USB ports on the right side. Aggravates the hell outta me 'cause I tend to have a lot of stuff plugged in.

    I loved the configuration of an Asus laptop I had but the screen sucked so I went with this one.

    Anyway, thanks for any help

    George

    Thanks, I didn't know if it was allowed or not but I was in a hurry as well as not feeling like spending 30 bucks just for shipping. After all, the damn thing was almost 1400 bucks, dammit if they can't make the images available. I think that's a little greedy.

    They do make them available. You can create recovery disks from the recovery manager.

    Recovery partition is gone. I had it pimped some time ago so it got deleted.

    I'll go ahead and order them regular mail since I won't get them in time anyway. I'll just have to show it to her as it is if she's still interested and if not, I need to go ahead and clean it anyway.

    Thanks

    Why can't you sell it without an OS? I am certain she would be able to make her way to HP's support page on her own.

    That's why you're supposed to make recovery disks and hold onto them for dear life :D

    Sorry to not respond, apparently I'm not getting notified on responses. Anyway, I bought the discs from HP, they sent the wrong discs.
    Got a new replacement set, did the thing and when it was supposed to reboot, it never did. Yeah, HP is really holding their own in the tech support department.

    Finally, I told them to take their $hit back and put it back to factory specs.

    Have gotten it back but haven't checked it yet.

    Thanks for the replies and just FYI, I've met the lady and no way would she be able to do this.

    I'm not going into a long explanation on how I know, let me just tell you that the experience was very painful :(
