Ordered my dv7tse on Feb 24th.
Estimated delivery was Mar 7th, which got delayed to Mar 18th, which is now delayed AGAIN to April 1st.

The sad part is I am not being given any proper answer (I escalated the issue!), except for a canned "parts shortage" from every talking head at their support center. They wont tell we what part (apparently they don't have that info from the warehouse!).

Are others facing delays in their delivery as well? Mine is a very generic configuration (nothing fancy), so am at my wits end to figure out why I will not have a laptop for ATLEAST 5-6 weeks after HP has charged money on my CreditCard (Feb 24th).

if your was a canned configuration chances are it was also available at most brick & mortar stores for the same or lower price.

other than venting, you are probably 'entitled' to cancel your order if that's what you want.

I am aware there have been some delays on the Envy 14" Beats Edition, but not on the DV7t SE. You should private message me your order number and I'll see whats really going on. The number should start with an H. And no one feels good about a situation like yours, PM me.

Same situation here. I ordered a dv7t select edition on Feb. 28, with only a few upgrades from the base configuration: i5-460M dual core processor, 8GB DDR3 System Memory, 640GB 7200 rpm hard drive.

The original estimated build date was March 9, but it's been delayed to March 15, then March 18, then March 23, now April 6. A vague "parts shortage" is the only reason given, although noone can specify which parts. I've received a 10% refund, but I'm trying to at least get an upgrade to a faster shipping method, considering the delay.

If they delayed to April 6, perhaps you might cancel and submit a new order for a Sandy Bridge Quad at 30% off. (April 10-15 ship date I believe)
