    HP Pavilion dv7t-6b00
    -2nd generation Intel Core i3-2330M Processor (2.2 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache)
    -6GB DDR3 System Memory
-1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon HD 6490M switchable Video graphics

I'm thinking of buying this laptop in the next week or so. I was wondering if the cpu is upgradeable to like an i5 or i7? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Sure thing, you can go i5 or i7 all the way up to the fastest i7-2860QM.

Just check out the CPU list in the service manual. If the CPU are listed in there then you are all good to go for it.
You will have to study the manual to take it apart, if you take it easy will take you an hour or two to do the change.
It's worth doing, I almost always do this upgrade if given the chance.

    Enjoy your upgrade :)

Okay cool. So then I won't have to do a motherboard swap?

Your motherboard will be a HM65 chipset.
If you want to be sure for you own piece of mind, download CPUz, click on the mothboard tab and check the chipset model :)
