    Please, can anybody help me?
    How can I reinstall OS from my USB hdd? I was copy hp recovery partition from notebook to USB hdd and then I was format hdd on notebook. Now I can't reinstall OS to notebook. I don’t have installation CD I only have hp recovery image. :confused:

    You are probably going to have to contact HP for the CDs now.

    The only other option you have in to get a Linux Live CD (GParted I think it is called) and copy that recovery partition back over to the dv8000. Other than that, that recovery partition has to be on the hdd (last section of it AFAIK) for it to work properly. It isn't like a CD ISO that can run from anywhere.

    Be warned though, you might want the CDs anyway if they are of just the OS itself. That recovery partition will contain all the bloatware that originally came with the notebook.

    Laptop vendors started not including the CDs over a year ago, and is basically a scam to save money and screw the public into having to keep all that bloatware.
