Hello, new to forums looking for some help. I have a hp notebook dv900 series. My notebook was not going to sleep when I closed the lid, setting were set to sleep. I did some google'ing and found a site hingecrack.com with the same issue, come to find out MY display hinge was cracked and I did not know.

I ship to HP for free repairs due to a service advisory from HP, I get notebook back with new display and hinge. But my clock will not keep time when I close the lid or it sleeps. I called HP and they said it has nothing to do with what they did and it maybe the RTC (real time clock battery) but they can't help because it's out of warranty. I change the battery on my own and I still happens.

I just found some other people with the same issue after HP repaired there notebooks, I'm going to try and call again tomorrow but they keep telling me it has nothing to do with what they did, but now that others have the same issue hopefully they do something.

Does anyone else here have this issue? and idea's?

Are the battery's connections to the logic board still intact? I know my RTC battery was very fragile and just brushing it broke a solder joint. I had to reattach it to get my clock to keep time.
