New to this! I need help! my dv9000 is telling me that my HP_Recovery (D) drive has very little space left. 2% to be exact and is in the red. This is not my specialty but can't be without my computer. I have tried to back up like it's prompting me to but it says I haven't the space. Can anyone help. The user manual is like reading french. Note: I can't read french! :)

    Thanks!

The recovery drive is meant to be like that. It is a special partition just to store the recovery files. Theres no need to back it up.

If you have burnt the recovery DVD's then you can get rid of the recovery partition as they do the same thing.

Um...its your recovery drive; its meant only to be used to recover your HDD to factory settings. There is no reason to use it for space

Okay, maybe I didn't word this correctly. I need to back up my files and it is done by backing up locally and then I burn it cd. I can't do it and I am assuming it is due to the recovery drive being full and having no fee space. At least that what message pops up. It then proceeds to tell me that to preform a back up I need to free up the space or change my backup settings. I have never messed with the settings. It then tells me that my computer could lose memory or preform poorly or be slow. It has chosen to be slow.

It sounds like it's trying to back it up to the recovery drive?

I believe that's right. I haven't changed any settings but today I went to do the usual back up and all this started. I am trying to back up a Quickbooks file.

New to this! Not sure if this is even where I post, but here goes. My dv9000 is telling me that my HP_Recovery (D) drive is running out of space. It tells me to free up space by deleting files. When I go there, there's nothing to delete. The window keeps popping up all the time. My computer is running really slow, and I'm not able to back up any of my files. I understand what the recovery drive is, and I haven't messed with it at all. Don't understand. Can anyone help me? Thank you!
