I was just wondering what is the big difference between the two...the 9500t seem to cost less then the 900t with the same stuff for the most part....so I was looking between these laptops for multimedia and gaming and wanted to know what the difference is between them. Thanks.

The biggest difference of consequence is the video card. The dv9500t comes with a GMA X3100, which is suited for general tasks such as web browsing, office apps & watching movies. This is not intended as a gamer's card.

The dv9000t has a GeForce Go 7600, which is much better suited to mid-level gaming, at the cost of higher power consumption and more heat.

    R4000,

You are comparing a base model 9500 with a upgraded spec'd out 9000.

The 9500 has up to a 511 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS as an option.

IMHO, the 9500 is a better unit on all available specifications except for the webcam, which is debatable. The 9500 has a lesser megapixel unit at 640 x 480, versus a 1.3 megapixel on the 9000. HP reasons that the 9500 was outfitted with a "lesser" webcam to enhance videoconferencing performance, but that could be easily remedied with a software select to degrade output.

At the date I made that post, the X3100 was the only graphics option available on the dv9500t. ;)

The 9500t also has a Santa Rosa chipset, which should mean faster speeds and better battery life.

and 9500t of course support up to 4GB of DDR2 ram , while there is only 2GB ram supprot at 9000t i think. and at 9000t there is no Hard disk with 7200 RPM speed .

There was, but the dv9000t CTO is no longer available through HP (old pre-configured stock only).

    R4000,

Point taken. I do see your post on that question is contextual with the time. My apologies for not taking that into account.

"Lesser" webcam has better light-response, so you can't get the same of VGA and 1.3MP cams. VGA cam is a lot better in terms of light response, because of the size of CMOS/CCD. The 1.3MP cam was just a advertising trick for HP to bring more people. But you barely use such resolution in videoconferencing or any video records for the net.
