When I try to play my old videos in WM11, I get a codec error. How do you fix this? I can't find a link where I can download the WM codecs so that it can play all my video files.

what kinda formats do your old videos have? .wmv? .mpeg?

If you really don't wanna mess around with video codecs. Then I suggest you use "VLC Media Player", it plays anything.

dowload VLC player, it plays virtually any format of video and doesnt require codecs to be downloaded to run

search google for a codec pack, these include a bunch of codecs that will help if u dont want to get VLC.

but VLC plays these so it will at least let u know if theyre valid videos

They're MPEG. My previous machine had XP PRO and I think it had a WM version 9. Thanks! I will check VLC player and the DIVX player.
