Hello fellow HP notebook owners! This question is in regards to the HP pavillion dv9500t notebook. I noticed an audio quality problem while editing a video using 2 audio channels. I then tested a couple of mp3's with this issue, and found that if I change the audio balance with the volume control panel to the right speaker only, I noticed a very distinct audio quality difference between the left and right channels. When I moved the audio balance all the way to the left, the left speaker produced a bassier, higher quality sound. When I moved the audio to the right speaker only, the sound was crappy to say the least... It lacked any kind of bass, and was slightly muffled... Anyone else have this issue? And if not, would this be an easy fix without having to deal with sending the notebook back to HP? Thanks in advance!

probably a speaker issue, could be driver or directX related but most likely speakers

Thanks for the replies! I tried the headphone thing, and it still seemed the same to me. The left side was definitely bassier, and produced just an all around better quality sound. The right side, though didn't seem muffled like the external speaker slightly does, was pretty much the same as well, no bass, crappy sounding overall. Has anyone else tested their left and right channels individually on the dv9500t?

Well I did the whole "chat with a live hp csr" thing, and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers, then reinstall the BIOS... Is that a good idea? My BIOS firmware is F.09, and the BIOS firmware they reffered me to was F.08... Should I try this or just send the notebook in for repair?

    Bump for possible other solutions.

Has anyone actually tried comparing the isolated left and right audio channels? Perhaps HP notebooks just have crappy speakers...
