Hi All,
I'm debating between the dv9500t (with Geforce 8600M) and the similarly configured Asus G2S: http://www.excaliberpc.com/ASUS_G2S.../90NJYA6531222CQL100T/partinfo-id-579729.html (please pardon the cross posting).
Does anyone have any thoughts as to the differences in build quality? Also, does the WSXGA vs WUSGA screen resolution make much of a difference? I do like the idea of being able to get a docking station (not available for Asus) and the numeric keypad on the HP is a big plus. The wireless keyboard and mouse that come with the docking station sound great, but will they be good enough for gaming (i.e. no / minimal lag)?
thanks,
- Frank

This is still speculation, but the dv9500t is expected to have the 8600m GS. While the G2S has the 8600m GT. That's another notable difference to consider for gaming! For that matter, and I don't mean to hijack this thread, please consider the new MacBook Pro either 15" or 17" with 256MB 8600m GT.

It's official-- the option for a 8600 GS is there. But why not the GT? As I understand, there is a noticable difference in gaming between the GS and GT
.
I presume they're not intending to offer a GT option in the future. Anyone heard otherwise?
