I installed Vista Ultimate 64bit on my hp dv9700t, and I installed all the drivers, but some still don't work such as the quicklaunch buttons and other things which I can't remember now. Anyone know where I can get all the proper drivers for it? or have theM?

Try running Windows Update and install the optional updates.

Tried both of those lol. Meh if those are the only solutions I'll go back to home premium, but is there a way I can make an image backup without ultimate?

What drivers are you having issues with? I know you said QuickLaunch, but that's and app and not a driver, and I didn't install that so I can't help you with that anyway, but I did just recently install a fresh copy of Ultimate 64bit, and haven't had an issue with anything. The fingerprint software was my only glitch, but once I installed the software and drivers from HP everything worked fine.

Personally I don't install QL because the buttons get in my way (I always seem to hit them by accident) and they were causing conflicts with the snipping tool. Sorry that I can't help you with that program.

When I first installed Ultimate, I just let Vista load, then loaded all drivers from the SWSetup folder that I backed up that it didn't find during the install. After that I ran all Windows updates, then updated the video drivers, and found anything else that I was missing from the HP site, and that was it.

So how do I back up my drivers? and I can't remember right now because I had to send it back in because the speakers were messed up. But I will try to do another install and come back here for questions. Also is it possible that hp will let me use a coupon after purchase or should I sell the laptop and repurchase it using a coupon?

The best thing is to make sure that you have created the system restore disks and then optionally backup the SWSetup folder, but you should be able to get all the drivers that you need either at the HP site, or at the website for each component.

As for the coupon, HIGHLY doubt they will let you use it after you have already received the laptop. I placed my order and when I found a coupon, they made me cancel my order and then re-order even though I hadn't even received it yet (was worth it though as I saved over $500).

Here's the download you want for the QuickLaunch software: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3650971&os=2100&lang=en

Is that the one you tried? If so, what exactly happened? Did it not install correctly? Do the buttons just not work? They can't be very complicated, as they worked automatically on my Kubuntu install, with no driver installation (not that there are any Linux drivers for it to begin with, but whatever).

Would I be able to sell my laptop for the price I bought it more or higher, and with the 2 year Accidental Damage warranty?(or can I use the warranty on a new laptop I buy- same model)
