So I purchased the extended warranty and LoJack for my laptop when I ordered it. Yesterday I had a package at my front door.

I was curious...what could be in this box? I couldn't remember ordering anything...So I opened it up.

Oh, it's my warranty information. Really HP? You sent an envelope with some paperwork and a CD in a box that size? Most of the box was filled with air filled plastic. Wouldn't it be easier to just ship that in a cardboard envelope? Every time someone orders an HP warranty, a tree cries somewhere I guess. haha

They did the same thing to me. Ordered the three-year with LoJack. A flat envelope inside a very cushioned and much larger box.

    A little experience/advice to share:

When you go to activate your warranty, do so by calling HP. I tried to activate mine online and the site stated that the serial number was in an invalid format. I eventually called HP support and the gentleman on the other end knew exactly the problem I ran into. Since I called on a saturday, he explained that I had to call back on monday as the department that handled warranty activations, did not work weekends. And the problem with activating was one with the site, and not my serial (mine began with 300 and not the KN the site was looking for). So I called first thing monday morning and the analyst activated it right away after I confirmed some purchase information. Took ten minutes, if that.
