I have an HP dv8000 and the fan suddenly makes a strange and annoying noise . It works fine although it works almost all the time. When the fan is going to stop makes a ''GRrrrrrr'' sound. The temperatures i believe is normal 49-55C, max 60C (coretemp). Should i replace this? I am out of guarantee, how much costs a fan for my laptop. I want a silent fan could you suggest me one to buy or should give hp for sevice and replace it(cost?). Thanx in advance...

I think that you should get a new fan, or try dropping a few drops of oil in the fan bearings. If you buy a fan off Ebay, it will probably cost a few bucks.

You should probably go for the OEM part. In fact, that may be the only part that would work anyway (and that goes for ANY laptop, not just your dv8000)
