Ok, so it looks like I am definately getting an HP.

I will either get the 6500t, 9500t, 6000t or 9000t. While I am tempted to get the newest systems out there, the older systems are pulling me back. Can anyone give me some piece of mind by answering some of the ?'s I have.

    1. In terms of Blizzard games (starcraft and warcraft) would the X3100 or the GO 7600 256mb be better. I only play blizzard games.

    2. Will the santa rosa chip set T7300 with the fsb 800 be significantly better than the T7200 for blizzard games, microsoft office, and browsing the web. Thats pretty much all I do. I am looking for a night and day improvement.

    3. Is the "N" wireless that much better than the "G" and is it worth the switch between the two chip sets.

    Thanks,

    Dan

1 = intel would be fine on them but nvidia is better and can play most of games high
2 = loading time would be fast probaly or faster.. i don;t really know about intels..
3= n gives better speed than g. so for faster dl or connection n would be better, but i think g is enough (for me).

performance will be very little between the T7200 and T7300. the only difference is the 800fsb from 667 previously. the RAM apparently is still 667 so no benefit there. whatever faster load times you get will be minimal like 1-5 seconds depending. but for what you need, it doesn't look like you will get a performance bump and certainly you wont notice it.

the go7600 is a much better option than the X3100 in every way. the X3100 is integrated so its memory will come from your system RAM.

yes n is faster for if you have a connnection that is faster than the 54mbps that the g offers. it is an improvement but if you are always close to an access point and your internet connection is under that speed, it wont do anything for you. i think the dual antennae might improve signal strengths in some areas.

Just wait for the dedicated nvidia 8 series to come out, dont waste your money on a X3100, you may regret it in the future.

If by Blizzard games you mean Wow I do believe the X3100 could play it with no problem though the 7600 would be far better. Also, I believe if you are not buying for a month or so that the 8000 series Nvidia will be coming available and would certainly be a better choice.

The wireless connection on your lappy is only as good as the router it's on.

You can get the Pre-N adapter, but if the router you use doesn't support it and only uses B or G, you'll be stuck with only B or G.

One thing that you forgot is that the Santa Rosa chipset does more than just increase performance. It helps battery life and efficiency especially in tasks that don't require performance, like watching DVD's or using office apps. Thanks to 'dynamic FSB switching' the processor can reduce its power consumption in tasks that don't need lots of power.

Maybe wait until the Geforce 8 series comes out in case you want to play SC 2 on it?
