I have been reading some messages from people who had some bad experiences with HP for repairing notebook. I must tell you that I am very happy when I got my Compaq notebook last Friday for video repair that has been died I took it back to the store where I bought it because I bought 5 years warranty for this notebook and there was no scratch or broke anything and I just had to wait for a week...what a fast repair service!

Good to hear some positive experiences once in awhile. :D

BTW, was it the screen or system board that was messed up?

I think that it is safe bet to buy warranty from the store so that the store can deal with HP directly than to ship it to HP myself?

Well frankly I think that only people who have problems resort to the internet and throw it all out here. For most it is usual business to send a notebook in for repairs and expect it back just like they sent with the errors fixed that is!
