I was at officemax today looking at some lappy's. I noticed that the HP's they had ran pretty warm even at idol than the rest of them which include toshiba, acer, compaq, and sony. Why did the HP's run warmer,,and does anybody have a heat problem with their HP notebook

HP's have been known to run a little hot, esp. near the front left side where the HDD is. The Pavilions tend to be thinner than comparable notebooks and this could be the reason for the excess heat.

Poor ventilation design plus constant thrashing/indexing by Vista equals very warm HP laptops.
