Ok, so last Friday, I purchased an HP Pavilion dv6408nr laptop. As soon as the computer loaded up, I loaded up Everest 4.0 (vista compatable version) and checked the battery. To my dismay, it reported that the battery already had a 26% wear level. Today, 6 days later, it now has 28% wear level.

Is this normal??? Or do I need to go ahead and contact HP support?

Some old batteries display the design capacity of a battery incorrectly. My v2000 6-cell battery showed a design capacity of 88000 mWh, which is not what a 6-cell battery usually holds. 6-cell batteries usually range from 47000 mwh to 65000 mwh

can anyone comment on whether I am just being paranoid or if I really do have a crappy battery?

I just checked mine via NHC and I have 26% Wear Level. I purchased my 6567cl last Friday.

Not sure if that is good or bad. I will monitor and let HP replace before my year warranty is up.
