I went through some of the specs, and am disappointed that HP is still not going to be offering a WXGA+ screen on its 14" consumer laptops. If not for that, I'd have bought one some time ago.

Those look like retail models of the current HP notebook series. Nothing new.

    They look really nice.

I would have really regretting ordering the 2500T a few days ago if I had not gotten the great deal with the 30% off.

I take it these will be CTO?

    still DDR2 and 8400M on dv2600?
I would just be satisfied with my 30% off dv2500

From the photos and spec, it seems there is completely no changes in dv6600 and dv2600 compared to dv6500 and dv2500. Do i miss anything here?

This isn't news to the US market. This is HP branching out to the international market with renamed 2/6/9500's. I don't believe they are CTO, as brianstretch said, these are probably pre-built retail models.

This isn't major news, simply a numbers change to reflect Intel's new T7250 processor instead of the T7200. HP changes its numbering scheme on each component upgrade to its consumer notebooks, even the change from XP to Vista.

It looks like the HP notebooks will get a new Imprint Finish and not much else. Strange, considering the dvX500 line has only been out for a few months on the Intel side.

I prefer the look of the first gen dv2000/dv6000/dv9000. Simplicity FTW! But I have to admit, HP's been doing a great job designing their laptops.

I wish they offered a plain flat black version for those us of do not want a flashy trendy shiney laptop.

    :(
Yes i know about the small business/business line but I'm talking at home prices (Probably cheaper to make a non flashy case too I bet).

about the only thing I see is: Networking: modem 56k, 10/100/ 1000 Gigabit Ethernet o 10/100 Ethernet LAN, Intel PRO Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g

Gigabit networking with 6600 and 9600. Of course you can drop over to newegg and get a gigabit card for $22 (plus $5 shipping).

Of course, their could be internal improvements not noted... the flip side is new issues that no one knows about. :)
