So I emailed Hp yesterday asking if they were planning on ever having a better graphics card in the dv6500t and this is how they responded.

I cant tell if this means that they are planning on upgrading the cards or not.
Just though i'd let you all see this

I would say it means nothing. I got the same canned response from them a few days ago about discrete graphics options on the dv9000z, which is why I ended up ordering a different laptop.

Yeah, that's the same sort of response people were getting even a few days before they released the nvidia 8x00, so it doesn't really mean anything. Seeing as they just released new cards a few weeks ago, I doubt they are going to make any real changes soon.

yea I just thought maybe they would use inteligence and upgrade so they don't get killed by dell when their new 15inch notebook uses an 8600gt.
    well whatever

I would be very surprised to see the 8600M GT end up in a 15.4 consumer HP notebook any time soon. HP has always taken a back seat to Dell in the graphics department, and I don't think this will change for now. HP seems more interested in selling multimedia laptops as opposed to gaming ones.

Anyway, I think it would be nice if they were a bit more forthcoming with hardware updates. They don't have to spill the beans entirely, but answering a potential customer's product question with a robotic jibberish response does not help increase product awareness (or revenue). ;)
