I've been reading up on the nc8430 and I can't figure out if the case is actually magnesium or just the chassis.

When people say the chassis, I assume this means the internal frame is magnesium but the outside case might be plastic or something. It sounds like the lid is definately magnesium, but is the rest of the case?

It has been compared very favorably to the ThinkPads, which are all metal (except for the parts directly around the keyboard) -- so I'm assuming the whole thing is metal, but I wanted to check.

I assume this would be one of the big differences between the consumer-level HP notebooks that places like BestBuy sell, and the business-level machines that you can only find via mail-order.

I also want to make sure that if you pick the laptop up by the front corner of the keyboard the system doesn't flex. I'm really tired of cheap-feeling plastic notebooks :)

    thanks!

The whole case is magnesium, including all the areas around the keyboard and mouse.
