If I have the nc8430 with 1 GB-667 of memory does it matter what memory manufacturer Memory module I use to upgrade the memory. Will it be ok to use
RAM 512 MB DDR2-667 Kingmax to get to 1.5 GB . Will there be any operating isues(because its 1.5GB) or do i have to get another 1gb to make it 2 gb?? Hehe I hope youll unerstand what i want to ask!

You can use any manufacturer. It is best to stick with reputable brands like Kingston, Crucial, Corsair or OCZ.

You can use a 512MB with a 1GB for a total of 1.5GB. There shouldn't be any issues. But it is always good to get memory of equal size.

I've always been told that you are basically cheating yourself if you don't just double your memory when upgrading. It will work, but not as well as it can.

More is always better (to an extent), but upgrading from 1 to 1.5 is a nice step up and leaves you read to upgrade to 2 GB later if you deem it necessary.

    of course more is better!!!!

i dont know all the tech talk, but someone was telling me that sticks play off each other and if you add 512 to 1 gig, then basically the 512 will have no one to play with.

If you have two sticks of the same capacity, they can run in Dual Channel mode which effectively doubles the available bandwidth of the memory.
