Everytime I find a HP notebook I like, I wish to find more information about it. However HP are no help at all. Every notebook I look for on the HP Direct website ends up a dead end. No models, no information, no mention.

Im wondering if somebody on the HP forum can give me a few details about this model.

Its a HP Pavilion dv2530. It comes with a Intel 7100 CPU. Which I assume is Core 2 Duo and Santa Rosa compatible. Does this mean that the notebook is a Santa Rosa Platform?

If so, does it use integrated x3000 graphics?

Plus, what is usually included when you purchase a HP notebook?

*Edit: Are their components Santa Rosa suitable? e.g.(2gb Ram run at 800FSB?)?

I assume you mean the US HP website, which only lists series, e.g. dv2500t, dv6000t, etc. Well, the dv2530t is a Santa Rosa machine, with the Centrino Pro platform, yes. It uses integrated x3100 graphics, which are actually quite decent in the realm of integrated and low end graphics solutions. As for what you get when you purchase an HP machine, I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean accessories, or what? It should come with the notebook, warranty information, recovery CDs or DVDs, power adapter, all the normal stuff.

(There are some components, most notably the CPUs which are expressly made for the Santa Rosa platform. However, Santa Rosa does not support 800mhz RAM, you use the normal 533 or 667 that you use in Napa laptops.)

The HP uk site is lousy full stop... the products on there change daily and disappear even though just released or still selling, and the online store might as well not exist.

You can't help but feel they are missing out on a large market by not offering the same online purchasing/customising options as the US. Im guessing the custom laptops are made in Asia somewhere given the long lead times, so why not offer it?

Here we have it folks... heres HPs comprehensive product listing and online product options for the DV2000 series:

    Great isn't it!

And a nice flash really sold it to me. http://www.cclonline.com/content/images/prod%20images/NOT2128/NOT2128.html
    PDF sealed it:

It looks like the remote, Tv tuner, bluetooth and lightscribe are all "as standard".

HP seem to rely on their "partners" to do all the selling and promotion for them. Looking at their market share, and the flash animation above, its not surprising why.
