It seems that many popular options are not available in Canada, which is unfortunate because I am looking into buying a notebook from HP![]()
My main concern is the battery actaully. I do not see an option in HP.ca to get the 12 cell ultra-capacity battery. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks

well, then buy it from a 3rd party seller for less? Unless of course your laptop does not support a 12-cell battery.

I actually found that the HP laptops available in Canada are cheaper than equal models in the States.
Check out frontierpc.com for just a 12 cell HP battery.

I just bought an hp DV6265ca for $1299 and it comes standard with a 12 cell battery. It's on clearance, sold out online but some stores do have some left. My local Futureshop is bringing one in for me from another store. -
I just read a post from a ex-employee saying in effect Canada as a market isn't worth fooling with. All of Canada being the equal to (1) state in the USA so far as volume.

You should be able to find most of HP/Compaq batteries on HP.ca:

Don't know if it would be any cheaper but an authourized HP dealer should be able to sell you batteries as well.
You're right tho, HP doesn't do the whole CTO thing with their consumer products in Canada. Not a huge problem IMO unless there's something really specific that you're after.
HP notebooks gimped in Canada?
