hello, does anyone know if there's an option to configure tap zones in HP nx's touchpads? To be more precise, I'm interested in buying nx7300, and I want to be able to middle click from the touchpad (not being able to middle click even with synaptics drivers was a major letdown in my fujitsu amilo)...

from my experience pretty much all synaptics touch pads have the same feature sets...but yes it will support tap zones. I do not use them so cannot confirm it is possible to specify middle button emulation.

I do know if you click both buttons at the same time that can trigger a scroll mode. There is a setting under BUTTONS that specify the middle-button action. Not sure what triggers that but it is in there.

That's what I thought when I bought my amilo :( ... apparently its touchpad isn't a synaptics one. Whatever drivers I install, the only thing I can do is reassign the 2 buttons, no tap zones, no scroll zones... thank god a friend of mine wants it, I'll buy the nx7300 instead

Synaptics drivers can assign on a tap zone pretty much any action that can be assigned on a button. If you say it supports tap zones, then it will do, thanks pretty much for the info
