I need a new laptop for law school, and after looking around for several months I'm down to the nx6125 and the ASUS w5a. Basically if the nx6125 is a solid machine its what I want to go with, has the power and a decent price tag, but I haven't seen any reviews from people who actually have one and was wondering if the machine has any flaws, such as excessive heat etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

The nx6125 really has a complete set of features. a/b/g + bluetooth, 64-bit ready, SSE3 compatible, Wide Viewing angles (SXGA+), fingerprint reader. It's easier to say this; I don't think it miss any features! And since this is a HP business notebook, you know they put their brand name behind it, that means 3 years warranty and high quallity. Only thing I would like is to see is the Turion 64 MT(25watt) CPU instead of the ML(35watt), not a big difference, but everything else is so perfect with this notebook, so why not?
As you might realise, I'm considering this notebook aswell. :hp: -
That was pretty much my thinking as well, and I have an HP right now, but it is desperately in need of replacing. I was just kind of worried about buying HP because I have seen some really poorly made pavilions (mainly desktops but a few notebooks as well) and they merged with Compaq, who I have had many, many bad tech support experiences with and no good ones to balance that out. I think I probably will go with the nx6125 in the end, since its a much more feature rich notebook, even if it is a bit heavier, although I do agree and wish they had the MT series chips as well, but HP doesn't seem to have them in any of their products right now.

I really don't understand how people can give advice by just enumerating the specs! I bought an nx6125 which of course looked great on paper, and even better on the desk (when turned off) but the super high resolution display is crap, and the service guy showed me an identical nx6125 that had been turned in, with the same crap display.
And the only advice he had for me off the record was "for crissakes, don't buy HP."
So please, people, before recommending something, ask yourself, HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN THIS PRODUCT?
