How come I can't find many details about this laptop from the HP website or any other except laptopsdirect.co.uk?
-
i think that's NC8430... not NX..
-
Would the "nx" denote a European model?
-
the nc8430 is a business notebook, it's found in the business section of the uk hp website
-
^Thanks everyone, looks like it was a typo mistake on the site.
-
No, I believe the NX8430 is model upon it's own. Mabye a special edition for europe, as it doesn't match the specs of any of the NC8430's american models.
-
Trust me its a miss print, it's a NC 8430.
Go and look under the student deals and you willsee this deal: here has the exactly the same laptop as your referring to here. But if you notice it is labelled correctly as the NC8430 in the student deal, but as a standalone, it is labelled incorrectly as the NX8430
Infact go look under "detailed specification" tab under the image (of the supposed NX8430), and it is labbeled correctly there as the NC8430 -
i was a bit suspicious of this student deal because the specification doesn't match any of the variants on the hp website. i sent an email to laptopsdirect and got a reply next day, i was told it was designed for them and i wouldn't be able to find it anywhere else. however, i like to know much more detailed specs than those which are on the website so i sent them another email about 3 days ago to ask for this and i'm still waiting
anyone ordered this? or can someone give me some more info? -
Ah, who cares about the model numbering?
HP Outlet UK incidentally also have the same exact bundles...and curiously description
laptopsdirect emailed me back saying it was HP who did this...presumably to distinguish it as a student deal, i.e. it comes with 3 yr warranty along with accessories, and isn't just a laptop, hence the 'x' for a 'c'
I'm rambling. Either way, they can't exactly get away with lying
-
I have ordered this. it IS an HP NC8430 - although it hasnt arrived yet.
Have a look here - (i know it sais HP NX8430 but its a typo), and click the "detailed specification" in blue, and you will see all the details you wich to know, and you'll note that it is titled correctly there as being a HP NC8430
This is the SAME laptop that is being used in the HP student deal number 3 -
it's these customer reviews which are also making me suspicious. there are very few bad reviews but they're still there but i'll buy it if you buy it
-
Every company has some bad reviews, just remember that its the customers that arent satisfied that right on these things, most people that are satsified don't usually bother to write so on these reviews.
However i have already put my oprder down
-
i noticed it says exclusive stock available on 28th august, does that mean if i ordered now, i wouldn't receive it until after this date?
-
WOW I would love this model but there $1749 plus tax and shipping. Ouch!
-
well when i ordered it said it should be delivered on the 20th
its now been moved to 28th
-
I paid $1619 without tax and free shipping from Buy.com
-
Please, let's not mention laptop $US vs £UK pricing
Don't make me cry!

^ imo ratings without a comment should be deleted...I mean come on people! Anyone would think it was the website who gave the 5 stars... -
I agree we get ripped off in this country - mind u the nc8430 for 800 inc VAT is amazing!!!
-
I paid 1416 dollars for the mid-range model. Although I am still waiting for 120 dollars worth of rebates.
-
yeah thats around £800 - but u got a higher spec model
not fair. but still were not govened by bush - i'd say its a fair trade off
-
hp outlet uk and laptopsdirect both belong to 'easy computers'
now i'm even more suspicious
HP nx8430
